Unprecedented demand for eCPD results in innovative collaboration between Becta, LSIS and LSC
Following an overwhelming interest from the sector in the eCPD training, Becta has agreed to match additional funding from LSIS to ensure an extension to the programme. The extension will fund: 40 additional training places; development with the sector of front-line guidance and products to maximise impact and sustainability of the programme; and an online multimedia version of the programme.

Cascading professional development funding. Closing date for submissions 7 January 2010
We are delighted to inform you that LSIS, working with the Institute for Learning (IfL), are now inviting bids for a new cascading professional development fund. PDAs and Advanced PDAs are encouraged to apply.
Bids need to be submitted by 7 January 2010. Full eligibility criteria and guidance, which includes a short online application form, can be found at the Subject Learning Coach website.

Harnessing Technology, Safeguarding Further Education and Skills Learners in a Digital World
Becta, with national partner bodies, has developed a model of support that can help to manage the level of risk faced in helping learners to develop the skills they need to keep themselves safe and secure when using technology for learning, leisure and work. It encompasses four elements: policies and practice; infrastructure and technology; education and training; and standards and inspection.

Harnessing Technology for Next Generation Learning
Becta has recently launched the sector's revised Implementation Plan for the Harnessing Technology strategy for FE and skills (2009-2012). This plan has been developed with Becta's national partners and is available on the FE and skills website.
